All Grain Brewing

All Grain brewing is the only way to make quality beer. With a little hard work and some patience, it will not take long to produce a beer that you will be proud of. Check out the Summer Lightning Project, which documents the entire process. More detailed information on each step in the process, can be found on the index. The aim is to produce beer that does not smell and taste of HomeBrew!, "All Grain" brewing is the answer.

The "Brewing Journals" also have lots of interesting details about each brew.

The Brewing Process

Home brewing is a very rewarding hobby but can also be very frustrating, particularly when there are so many opinions on the best methods. This web site takes a sensible proven approach to brewing. There may be better ways but the methods you will read about on this site work well enough to produce quality beer. Brewing is a personal thing, so do it the way that suits you.

Enjoying Beer At Home

Brewing Beer at home does not necessarily mean warm and flat. If you are using Corny Kegs, you can achieve the correct level of carbonation and when combined with a chiller, the local pub will have to work hard to tempt you out of your armchair.

Using Corny Kegs and a chiller does not mean that you can only produce fizzy lager. If you only chill and carbonate the beer lightly, a real ale can also be served.

Compared to commercially produced beer, home brew is full of flavor. It is also very satisfying to know that you can get a better pint from your own Kegs than served at your local pub.
